Best Makeup Tips for Allergy Sufferers

I wouldn’t wish allergies on anyone. Not even my worst enemy. It sucks. It’s nasty and I hate it.Β But that’s how God made me so I’ve learned to manage it. When I don’t manage it or use preventatives like I’m supposed to is when the problems starts. I’ve had allergies ALL of my life have dealt with a runny nose, runny eyes, and a hard time breathing. Which you can imagine affects my makeup. I spend so long with foundation, concealer, eye shadow, eye liner, and lipstick that it’s a complete waste as soon as I step out into the pollenΒ infested summer.

Allergy Makeup Tip

Here’s some times to get your makeup to stay without being ruined by your allergies:

Β Take your meds!

Whether it’s allergy shots or your daily preventative, do it. You don’t want your eyes and nose running regardless if you have makeup on or not. Trust me.

Use a good primer.

Make sure you are using a face primer before you apply your foundation. It helps your foundationΒ wear better and last longer. It’s also a good idea to use eye shadow primer as well. Find one that will lock your concealer in place even when your eyes start to water.

Get a mascara that won’t budge.

This is literally my worst nightmare. My eyes are sensitive and I wear contacts. Although, it is sometimes a pain to remove, having a waterproof mascara is a great option.

Paper towels only. No Kleenex.

Stiff paper towels are not really good for your skin, but it’s perfect for a face full of make up when tears are running down your face. Kleenex or tissue can be too soft and stick to your make and be a pain to get off. It’s true. It’s happened to me. Also, this is a good tip for weddings or special events.

I hope this helps you! Do you have allergies? If so, what do you do to keep your makeup from being ruined?
