The Fall as come and gone in Houston, which sort of makes for better weather than summer. It’s still hot, but not that scorching hot that is unbreathable and makes you darker in a matter of seconds. While shooting this, it was a bit hot because of standing directly in the sun. But once you hit a shaded area, it was golden. I even felt a breeze.
I’ve had a busy week this week. Constant events, phone calls, and emails now that I’ve started my own business. The back and fourth with clients with upcoming events and a time to breath and hangout with my blogger buddies and friends has been difficult. I realize that I do more blogging than anything which I feel is a bit unfair to you all. I must say some days I am not even in the mood to blog but realize that without you reading it, I wouldn’t have some of these opportunities.
I got a new lens for my camera this month and I’m having so much fun with it. Can you tell the difference in the pics?
I’d love to hear what you think about my look as well!

Hey guys! I’ve been super busy lately! Hope you are having a good week so far. I’ll be out of town next week, so make sure you follow me on Instagram for my travels!
Since I have been wearing braids, I have always had my African Pride Braid Spray but never thought about trying the other products for my natural hair. Here’s what grabbed my attention about the brand: The Olive Miracle and Shea Butter Miracle products. These African Pride products helps keep your hair strong by dramatically reducing breakage and dryness. African Shea butter, olive oil, and herbal oil extracts are some of the ingredients that highlighted for breakage and dryness.
This event was so helpful and it was informative hearing point of views about individual hair stories and encouragement to strive for HEALTHY hair!

Blouse: Macy’s (love this one.) | Jeans: F21 | Shoes: Aldo (love these for Spring.) | Bag: H&M (on my wishlist.) | Necklace: AldoI wore this last Sunday to church which I hesitantly put on due to me NEVER wearing pants to church. I’ve actually worn pants to church before, but as I got older and my faith grew stronger, I always felt the need to wear a dress or skirt to church. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think anything is wrong with wearing pants to church and I see women do it all the time and I don’t think anything of it.
Anyway, this past Friday I went to Rodeo Houston and it was so much fun! I love animals and of course I’m a country girl as you know, so this was right up my alley. Mary J. Blige performed and did an excellent job!
(LOL @ the hair flip in the first photo!)
Did you do anything exciting this weekend? I’d love to know!
- Lightly Layer- Store away those heavy coats! Spring will call for linen blazers, denim jackets, and cotton cardigans. Pair these thin tanks and tees.
- Fade the Black- Black may make you look thin, but replace it with soft colors and completing prints this season. Personally, I will be wearing plenty of corals and teal greens. That’s just my preference! White, pink, beige, canary, amethyst, sea green and peach are all options to add to your wardrobe.
- Accessorize with Scarves – Big thanks to the thick scarves that kept us from harsh colds this season, however, put those away! This season thin, linen, and sheer should come to mind when choosing a scarf. Drape or loosely wrap for styling.
- Make a Comeback- Boots are a girl’s best friend! They can be paired with your favorite pair of short shorts, flirty skirts, or a fabulous pair of tights. You most definitely do not want to store away your comeback boots. They are especially called for unpolished toes and breezy nights.

I am definitely bringing out my love for Amiee Song here. She always looks so put together when wearing the pieces that just might not go together to any other person. The pop of color to a bland outfit is SO easy to do with accessories and shoes. This outfit was out of the box for me but made me realize ways to bring a casual feel to a pair of great heels.

Happy Friday everyone!
So excited to see the weekend! I plan to clean my makeup brushes and possibly sale some of my lightly worn clothes and shoes. I need to get rid of things! If you are interested in purchasing, please let me know.
I’m also loving the photos and peaks of the runway shows at NYFW! I can’t wait to see the other shows. What collections have you like so far?
If you need ideas for any occasion for Valentine’s Day, I have a post (here) that will tell you what to do and what to wear!
What are your plans for the weekend?
